Its my trumpet and I'll blow it if I want to

Could you be reading the blog of 'the next Lilly Allen style internet sensation?'... Not my words, the words of Dummy Magazine - look!

Maybe not. But my latest efforts at plugging my music seem to be paying off and creating a certain buzz, albeit a very low level one. I've been engaged in a rigorous
internet, record shop, flyer, radio station and anything else I can think of campaign to try and get my tunes heard. I'm giving my latest album away - while I could perhaps make a meagre sum from charging for the download it seems to be far more productive future-career-wise to offer it for free (see Arctic Monkeys and the aforementioned Ms. Allen). Besides, I ain't in it for the money, man.

My thread on the Ninja Tune forum is knocking 100 posts (you might have to dig through the pages to find it, my username is davehouse) and it's creating crazy traffic to my website and resulting in some very lovely things being said! Even better, Rob da Bank, him of Sunday Best / Bestival / Radio 1 fame, personally requested one of my CDs on the Bestival forum (wahey!)

The only annoying thing to come of all this is that, due to so many downloads of my tunes, my website bandwidth was exceeded resulting in a frozen account and the temporary downfall of my internet empire (consisting of my company website, my music site and all my email accounts!!) But I'm not complaining!

Oh, and I'm assuming that the Lilly Allen reference is due to potential musical success through a successful internet promotional campaign, not because I'm Keith Allens daughter. Because, as the tests proved, I'm not.

OK, that's the fanfare over.
